Free Weekend Fishing Tournament

$7,500 Total Prize Purse for City Pier vs. County Pier Challenges, Oct 5, 2012 – November 4, 2012

The M.B. Miller Pier (County Pier) and the Russell Fields Pier (City Pier) are twin piers, both of which are prized as prime fishing spots for anglers of all ages. Extending more than 1,500 feet into the calm waters, the piers are two of the longest on the Gulf Coast. Rod rentals and tackle available on site.

Each weekend beginning at midnight Friday morning through Sunday at 5 p.m. anglers can compete in the challenge which includes 4 species: King Mackerel, Spanish Mackerel, Flounder & Pompano.** A winner at each pier will be awarded in each fish category every weekend. A total of $1,200 in prizes will be awarded each weekend. A $250 prize will be awarded to the overall winner who catches the heaviest fish between the two piers in each of the four categories during the 2012 Fishing Challenge. Winners of the Children’s Division who catch the largest fish each weekend will receive a $50 gift card. Children’s Division is open to kids 12 years of age and under. Children must hook the fish and actively participate in reeling in the fish.  Children’s winner will be the heaviest overall fish between all categories.

Weigh-ins will take place at each pier with the weekend winners announced on Sunday at 5 p.m. No tournament entry fee; however, contestants must pay the standard pier fishing fee or have an annual pass in their name.
